Pretend that you are Smith interviewing one of the individuals that I assigned you to deal with in class today. Write a letter to a close friend describing that character's personality and behavior, paying close attention to her/his language, pronunciation, choice of words, idiosyncrasies, hair, dress, gestures, and mannerisms. Indicate to your friend your opinion of that individual and how you plan to portray him/her in your production. Link the letter to your Portfolio page.

Ash,

Can you believe that people don't think people can't be integrated? There is this guy, Rabbi Shea, from this play and he is a real character. He is sitting at this table, tie undone, looking tired or frustrated or something like that and he's leaning back in kind of a relaxed way. He feels that he can't understand others that don't share. Then he leans forward, real power move, and he starts getting angry. He is getting angry, using the big hand motion and slams tables, about integration and like I know you're white, but this guy is white. I don't know how it was in the 90s, but there is a such a thing as kosher take out. and even if you can't go there, why can't you invite people to your place. It's not that difficult. He gets loud about really dumb stuff and I don't think we'd get along. But, I guess it was an effective performance, because it got a reaction out of me.
Anyway hope you are well. See you back at the dorm.
